Weird Names For Animal Groupings Posted: 13 Apr 2011 01:10 PM PDT To help scientists differentiate different groups of animals, they gave most animals their own collective noun. Many still go by “herd” or “pack” or “nest,” however, some they just went nuts with and had fun. While some make sense, such as “Prickle of Porcupines” and “Intrusion of Cockroaches,” others are just confusing and funny. Pack of Wolves
