The Beautiful Metro in Stockholm

The Metro in Stockholm is known as the Tunnebana, opened in 1950, and is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. The underground station was cut into the rocks. It's comprised of 100 stations, of which 53 are above ground while 47 are underground.

The Hórreo

These structures are known as Hórreos and can be found all throughout northeastern Spain. They are often centuries and are built this way for a specific reason. The people who built them needed to keep their crops, such as corn safe, dry, and away from rodents.

Before I Die

"Before I Die" is the project by Candy Chang who is a public installation artist, urban planner, designer, and the cofounder of the civic center that makes rundown places more comfortable for the people who see them. Basically, the project is responsible for putting up a giant chalkboard with a space for people to write in what that want to do before they die.

Even though color photography wasn't made widely available to the public until the 60s you can now see color images from as early as the turn of the century. It's amazing to see that life wasn't in black and white during those times.
